Fashion meets Budapest

Set on the Pest bank of the Danube beside the iconic Chain Bridge, SO/ Budapest sees the transformation of the former Sofitel Budapest Chain Bridge into a bold new luxury lifestyle destination. The architectural vision by New York-based Asymptote Architecture reimagines the landmark building for a new era, creating a contemporary presence within Budapest’s historic cityscape while retaining its distinctive character. The 350-room hotel marks SO/’s debut in Hungary, bringing the brand’s fashion-led approach to one of the city’s most prominent locations, with spectacular views across the Danube towards Buda Castle and the historic city beyond.

Designed to make a statement

Inspired by the worlds of fashion and luxury, the interiors capture SO/’s avant-garde personality while responding to the energy and character of Budapest. FIG’s scope encompasses the guestrooms, spa, MICE spaces and dramatic central atrium, creating a series of distinctive experiences within the hotel. The guestrooms embrace SO/’s signature concept of the art of ‘getting dressed’, with open wardrobes, illuminated vanities, mirrors and reflective surfaces bringing a sense of theatre and glamour to the everyday ritual.

A new chapter for an iconic address

Beyond the guestrooms, SO/ Budapest brings together extensive wellness, meeting and social spaces within a completely reimagined destination. The hotel includes more than 740m² of meeting and event facilities and an 855m² spa with swimming pool and fitness and wellness areas, complemented by restaurants, cafés and a rooftop restaurant and club. Bold, social and unmistakably contemporary, the project brings a new expression of luxury to a landmark Budapest address, connecting fashion, design and culture at the heart of the city.

A bold new expression of Budapest – where fashion, design and the theatre of luxury come together.
