Story-telling inspired by famous Dutch poet

FIG styled the renovated hotel, formerly ‘Hotel Europa’ creating a story around Sir Huygen, and tying this in with the branding and wayfinding design. The hotel has around 50 rooms and is located in the Museum district. We were responsible for the rooms, public areas and the naming, branding and wayfinding.

Fresh contemporary fun identity

The design is inspired by Sir Constantijn Huygens, Lord of Zuilichem a Dutch Golden Age poet and composer. We are drew images that came from his poetry and twisted them in a fun humorous way. He had a quirky character that is being reflected in the styling and story-telling.

Quirky design & excellent location

Conveniently located in the Museum District, our hotel is just a short walk away from all the main sights. The Rijksmuseum, Van Gogh Museum, Stedelijk Museum and Amsterdam’s most famous park, the Vondelpark are just a few minutes away.

FIG took over this project part way through and were able to create the name, the brand, an identity, as well as the interior design in a very short time.
