Comfortable & inviting
Designing this restaurant has been an incredibly inspiring experience! We had the opportunity to blend history with contemporary charm within Bromley’s former Old Town Hall, resulting in a captivating space. The soaring ceilings, wood-panelled walls, and triple-height, barrel-vaulted ceilings brought a touch of sophistication to the ambiance. Framed pastoral scenes and eye-catching artwork adorned the walls.
Throughout the design process, we aimed to strike a harmonious balance between preserving the historical significance of the old courtroom and incorporating modern elements. The New York-worthy bar, with its art deco-style lighting and antique brass counter, adds a modern touch.
Originally, the restaurant served as the Town Courthouse. The exact spot where the bar now stands was previously occupied by the judge, while the rest of the area was dedicated to seating. In the second picture, we designed this large chest of drawers for both storage and as a feature to create a cozy atmosphere. We adorned the chest with vases containing fresh and dried flowers. The picture also displays selected artwork, with a focus on illustrations of fresh British food.
