FIG Completes Wellness Resort Project in Cornwall UK

St Michaels is a luxury spa hotel & resort overlooking Falmouth’s Gyllyngvase beach. The Resort was Awarded A 4-star silver in January 2019 and had previously relaunched in September 2018 as the south west’s pre-eminent resort hotel.

The project design team curated stimulating guest rooms for the Captain’s House by fully embracing the fundamental principles of “Cornish Wellbeing” and epitomise the St Michaels spa experience.

The design tells a tale of the Falmouth Packet Ship Service which carried mail to and from the far corners of the British Empire and the house lived in by the Packet Ship Commander. The use of reclaimed timber and strong naval blue accents with calming neutral tones are complimented by natural textures, nautical accessories and artwork pieces that make the guest feel as though they are the personal guest of the “Captain” himself!

The overarching interior design approach is very sensitive to the natural environment using sustainable as well as locally made materials and takes inspiration from the surrounding sub-tropical gardens, elements of the existing Spa and Falmouth’s historic relationship with the sea.

The property features stunning sea views, sub-tropical gardens and a state-of-the-art Health Club, featuring an expert range of hydrothermal facilities, relaxation areas, and luxurious treatment rooms.
