Article on C&IT – Iconic heritage, visionary future: Welcome to The Belfry Hotel & Resort

Luxury meets versatility at the iconic Belfry Hotel & Resort, where the new Masters Suite promises unforgettable event experiences.

Already one of the UK’s most iconic meeting, conference, and event venues, The Belfry Hotel & Resort is set to expand its offering to event planners with the 2025 openings of The Masters Suite (one month ahead of schedule) and the Leisure Club.

“The construction of The Masters Suite is an excellent example of our commitment to and investment in providing clients with a world-class meetings and events offering,” says Katie Niland, commercial director at The Belfry Hotel & Resort. “This versatile space will elevate our award-winning M&E offering to even greater heights, and our specialist events team will work with our clients to showcase their offer in a setting unmatched for its adaptability, imagination and potential.”

Let’s take a look at why The Belfry should be top of any event planner’s agenda for 2025.

Award winner

In 2024, The Belfry was named ‘England’s Best Incentive Hotel’ at the World MICE Awards. The resort offers a range of features, including three world-class golf courses – one of which, The Brabazon, has been home to the iconic Betfred British Masters since 2022. Conveniently located 20 minutes from central Birmingham, The Belfry is accessible by air, rail, and road, catering to both domestic and international visitors.

The resort provides 23 meeting and event spaces, over 468 rooms, and a 550-acre estate. Delegates can enjoy a range of delicious dining options at the 2AA Rosette restaurant, The Ryder Grill, unwind in the spa, or explore the surrounding countryside during their visit.

“Clients aren’t just booking an event at The Belfry when they choose to host an event here; they’re aligning their brand with a successful resort acclaimed for its levels of personal service and outstanding hospitality,” says Niland. “This association sends a clear message to guests about the calibre and quality of a client’s event. Winning the MICE award confirms that booking an event at The Belfry is a choice for experience, professionalism, value and creativity.”

Flexible and versatile

The Belfry offers over 20 event spaces accommodating groups from 10 to 400, with the capacity increasing to 920 after The Masters Suite opens. The resort provides a flexible setting for events of various sizes, from intimate meetings to large-scale conferences or exhibitions.

“As one of the region’s leading events venues, we pride ourselves on providing a flexible and versatile offering, including both indoor and outdoor events spaces,” says Niland. “Clients have everything they need in one place at The Belfry. From our choice of events spaces and AV facilities to our skilled catering team and stylish bedroom options, we ensure event planning is, quite simply, effortless.”

For event planners looking for something al fresco, The Belfry has two options. Terrace on the 10th hosts up to 200 guests and offers views across the iconic Brabazon, while the brand-new The Green features 2,430 sqm of green space and hosts up to 250 guests for team-building activities such as treasure hunts, mini golf, segway rides, clay pigeon shooting and wine-tasting.

The Belfry has an array of dining options for all types of rumbling stomachs, from 648 covers to private dining for 12 guests. The 2AA Rosette restaurant, The Ryder Grill, offers a range of delicious dining options and has recently been expanded by over 150 covers to meet demand, while light bites and cocktails are available from the award-winning Brabazon Bar, and there are several informal dining options.

2025 and beyond

Despite winning the MICE award, there is no resting on laurels at The Belfry. In 2023, The Belfry turned away business due to capacity. So, The Masters Suite was conceptualised and has received £24million-worth of enquiries before its opening.

Designed to host 648 guests for banqueting and with a max capacity of 920, the venue will be The Belfry’s biggest events space at 852sqm. Providing a dedicated setting for major events, it will also include an additional 149 luxury bedrooms, as well as an outdoor terrace with views of The Brabazon.

A key feature of the suite is its flexibility. Event planners can divide the suite into two spaces to accommodate different event types and sizes. The Belfry offers free parking, including numerous electric charging points. Uniquely for such a large events space, The Masters Suite will be bathed in panoramic natural light, bringing the outside in, perfect for creating unique and experiential events.

“We know our flagship events space will not just meet clients’ needs, but also exceed their expectations,” says Niland. “We can’t wait to work with them to create events which are truly unique and unforgettable.”
