The Netherlands: Fusion Interiors Group (FIG) has won the Best Hotel Interior 2021 category at the European Property Awards for its work on Hendrick’s Hotel in Amsterdam.
Hendrick’s Hotel is located in Amsterdam City Centre on Prins Hendrikkade. The 25-bedroom luxury hotel was originally two canal houses before Twentsche Bank occupied the building between the 1800’s and 1950’s. As Hendrick’s Hotel, the property opened in 2017.
The European Property awards is judged by a panel of 80 industry experts, chaired by Lord Caithness, Lord Best and Lord Waverley. Criteria focuses on design, quality, service, innovation, originality, and commitment to sustainability.
CEO of Hendrick’s Hotel, Chiehong Weng, said: “We were impressed how FIG’s original design concept embraced the buildings history in a mischievous, quirky and playful way. We are delighted that FIG’s innovative ideas have resurrected these once-derelict canal houses whilst retaining their historic charm. We couldn’t be more delighted that FIG have won this award.”
FIG’s CEO, Hilary Lancaster, said: “After four years work on this delightful heritage hotel, we are thrilled to have won this prestigious award. Working with Hendrick’s Hotel typifies what we do best as a studio. It is an example of our ability to incorporate a buildings’ narrative story through our interior design.”
