A new identity for student living

Maison Jussy is a new 101-room student residence in Thônex, Geneva, bringing together private accommodation with co-working and communal spaces, shared lounges, social areas and a dedicated gym. Designed around a more connected approach to student living, the project called for an identity that could capture the energy of its shared spaces while creating a genuine sense of home and belonging.

A brand with a sense of home

FIG developed the name “Maison Jussy” to express this idea of community and place. “Maison” introduces a warm, domestic quality, moving the perception away from conventional student accommodation, while “Jussy” anchors the brand firmly within its Geneva location. Together, they create a simple and memorable identity that feels welcoming, contemporary and distinctly local.

Young, bold & playful

The visual language reflects the energy and personality of the people and spaces within Maison Jussy. Bold typography, playful graphics and expressive colour combinations give the brand a youthful and confident character, balanced by a clean contemporary aesthetic. The result is an identity designed to feel vibrant and sociable without losing its sense of sophistication.

One identity, many applications

A simple house symbol provides a recognisable graphic signature for the brand, reinforcing the ideas of home, community and belonging. Together with the wider graphic language, it can be carried across signage and wayfinding, digital platforms and promotional materials. Colours inspired by the interior concept further connect the branding with the physical environment, creating a consistent Maison Jussy experience from the spaces themselves through to every point of communication.

Designed to grow

Maison Jussy was conceived from the outset as more than an identity for a single residence. Combining “Maison” with each location creates a flexible naming system that could evolve across future developments – from Maison Carouge to Maison Lausanne or Maison Plainpalais. This creates the foundations for a recognisable family of student residences, each connected to its location while remaining part of a distinctive and consistent wider brand.

More than a name, Maison Jussy is an identity built around home, community and the energy of student life.
